SEALANTS The best way to prevent a flat is to put a 'sealant' in the tube, before you get a puncture. The sealant liquid is put in through the valve, and coats the inside of the tube with a tacky layer. Then, if a thorn or nail goes in, the sealant seals around the hole.
TUBES The tube is one part on the bike that is usually put in, and then forgotten about, until a tyre change, or a puncture. Like any other part on your bike, it should be regularly cleaned, maintained, and checked for wear. For extra protection from punctures, a sealant in the tube before an event is widely used by riders of all levels. A puncture cannot always be avoided, but with the following products, you can at least be prepared.
